Erik Vogt
Chief Executive Officer/DER, Vogt Aero
Erik Vogt’s interest in aviation began in 1978 by watching 747 aircraft take off over the ocean surf at Naha International Airport in Okinawa, Japan. This interest was solidified when his first-year college calculus professor convinced him to purse Aerospace Engineering.
Upon graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering (BSAE) his interest in aviation evolved into a love while working at Boeing as a Certification Engineer on the first delivery of the 747-400 (RT401). Being exposed to the Flight Line as a Certification Engineer led him down two career paths; FAA-DER and Flightline MRB engineer.
Obtaining the FAA delegation as a Consultant Engineering Representative (DERT) in 1993 allowed him the opportunity to work with a variety of Airlines, MROs, Lease Companies and other regulatory agencies across the globe. These opportunities helped to grow his certification knowledge and expand his FAA delegation to Part 23, 25, 27 & 29 aircraft in the Mechanical Systems, Cabin Safety, Electrical Systems disciplines along with multiple specialty delegations.
By obtaining Boeing MRB authorization in 1997 and supporting the Preflight & Delivery operations of wide body aircraft Erik gained significant and diversified experience. This experience allowed him to provide liaison/repair engineering support to variety of customers for heavy checks, VIP and commercial aircraft modifications, line maintenance and flight operations.
Over the 35+ year aviation career Erik has been exposed to a large variety of projects, customers, operations and regulatory authorities. This experience has further solidified his love for the industry and strengthened his desire for continual improvement of the designs, quality, processes and people that make the aviation industry the best.
Vogt Aero was started to satisfy this desire. Continual improvement is the single most important driving factor of Vogt Aero and our commitment to it is why the company proudly carries the family name.
